Meeting point
For tandem paragliding flights at the Zwölferhorn above Lake Wolfgang, we meet directly at our flight school in St. Gilgen, right next to the Zwölferhorn cable car base station.
You will need a cable car ticket for the ascent, which you can conveniently purchase at the base station.
We take the cable car up the mountain together, introduce you to the surrounding peaks and lakes of the Salzkammergut, and then head to the take-off site.

Take-Off
After a thorough briefing on take-off, flight, and landing, your pilot prepares the paraglider.
For take-off, all you need to do is take a few easy steps forward until we reach flying speed.
Within seconds, we lift off smoothly — and you can sit back comfortably in your harness and enjoy the view from the front row.

The Flight
During the flight, your pilot fully controls the paraglider while you relax and enjoy the experience — free as a bird above the turquoise waters of Lake Wolfgangsee.
In good thermal conditions, we may gently gain altitude and even soar above the mountain summit. We then glide out over the landscape towards St. Gilgen, offering truly impressive panoramic views of Lake Wolfgangsee and the surrounding region.

The Panorama Flight is our top recommendation for all guests who want to experience an impressive tandem paragliding flight over Lake Wolfgangsee. Together with your experienced pilot, you take off from Mount Zwölferhorn in St. Gilgen and enjoy — depending on weather conditions and thermals — approximately 10–20 minutes of flight time with spectacular views over Lake Wolfgangsee and the Salzkammergut region.
The Panorama Flight can be booked directly online via our schedule. Additional options can be added flexibly on the day of your flight on site, depending on current conditions and your personal preferences.
If you want to capture your memories, you can add a photo & video package for € 35. If the thermals are good, there is also the option to significantly extend the flight for € 40 and stay in the air for up to 20-40 minutes. Those who like it more dynamic can be shown action maneuvers such as wingovers or spiral dives free of charge.

Weight: 20–100 kg (up to 130 kg possible with a €30 surcharge).

Important Information
Weather: Paragliding is highly weather-dependent, especially in alpine terrain, which means decisions sometimes have to be made at short notice.
Decision timing: In uncertain weather conditions, we inform you as soon as reliable forecasts are available. However, decisions often have to be made at short notice.
- Holiday: If you are staying in the area, we recommend scheduling your tandem flight at the beginning of your holiday to remain flexible in case of weather-related changes.
Availability: Please make sure you can be reached by phone at least 48 hours before your scheduled flight, so we can contact you at short notice if necessary.
Schedule changes: Flight times may be rescheduled at short notice due to weather or operational reasons. We will inform you of any changes by phone.
Take-off decision & cancellation: The final take-off decision can only be made directly at the launch site. If a safe take-off is not possible, the flight will be cancelled. In this case, we will offer an alternative date or refund the flight price if rescheduling is not possible. Any costs already incurred, such as cable car tickets, cannot be refunded.

Parking
You can park for up to four hours free of charge in the Zwölferhorn cable car parking garage when purchasing a cable car ticket. The garage is located just a few meters from our flight school.
Alternatively, you can park in the short-term parking zone directly at the cable car or in front of our flight school. Parking there is free of charge for up to three hours with a parking disc.
Public Transport
Bus line: 150 Busstop: St. Gilgen Busbahnhof. The bus stop is located directly next to our flight school.

What should I wear for tandem paragliding and which shoes do I need?
Please dress appropriately for the season. In summer, a light jacket is usually sufficient, as it can feel cooler in the air. In colder months, we recommend warm clothing and gloves. Sunglasses are also useful in sunny weather.
We recommend sturdy, closed shoes with good tread soles for the start, ideally hiking or sports shoes, as the starting area is on a slope.
If you don’t have suitable shoes or clothing with you, we will be happy to provide you with them free of charge. All necessary safety equipment is, of course, provided by us.
What can I take with me on the tandem paragliding flight and where can I leave my luggage?
We only have limited storage space available during a tandem paragliding flight. Smaller personal items such as a smartphone, wallet or a small water bottle can be taken along without any problems.
Larger items such as rucksacks or suitcases can be safely stored in our office, which is also our meeting point.

Does tandem paragliding take place in all weather conditions and what happens in bad weather?
Tandem paragliding is highly weather-dependent. Safe flights require stable conditions with low wind, especially at higher altitudes. Even cloudy days can offer beautiful flights – sunshine is not essential.
We will inform you as early as possible about the flight conditions. If flying is not possible, the flight will be rescheduled free of charge or fully refunded.
We recommend booking your flight early in your holiday, so alternative dates can be used if needed.
How long does a tandem paragliding experience at Lake Wolfgangsee take?
The entire experience takes approximately 1.5 hours, including meeting point, organisation, cable car ride, briefing, flight and landing.
The actual flight time is around 10 to 20 minutes, depending on wind and thermal conditions.
When is the best time of year for tandem paragliding in St. Gilgen?
The best season for tandem paragliding in St. Gilgen is from April to October. Especially in summer, the Zwölferhorn offers very stable wind conditions, allowing flights on most days.
Paragliding is also possible in winter, but planning is more flexible and weather-dependent.
Can we meet directly on the mountain for tandem paragliding?
Yes, meeting directly on the mountain is possible by prior arrangement. If you plan to hike up or want to spend time on the mountain before the flight, we can agree on a meeting point near the launch site.
